Pellets?
Hi everyone! My first budgie care question is about pellets. I bought a bag of Zupreem, then remembered reading somewhere that budgies actually need a seed diet, so I bought some basic parakeet seed. I've been giving them a mix of the two - although they don't seem to be eating much of the pellets.
Are pellets okay to feed as the "main course"? If not, what are some good seed blends?
Hugs,
Sharon

RE: Pellets?
Pellets are better than seeds! Also mix in some fresh veggies and fruit, maybe cut small or they will just throw them. I have given diced carrot and apple, corn, etc.
If they get addicted to the seeds it is going to be hard to get them off them, so you might have to do it gradually.
Kiwi - Senegal; Guapo - Nanday conure; BeeBee - BH caique; Keeta - CAG; Lafitte - moustache parakeet. My sweet Hopper, forever missed.

RE: Pellets?
i give all 28 keets pellets and seeds, they perfer the pellets and eat them rapidly, but the seed they enjoy so they get both along with fresh vegs and some fruit fruit is high in sugar and water content so the avain vet advise little fruit lots of vegs and pellet , give them all you want they be fine .i also give them a fresh green leaf of lettuce its not nurtional value but i mist it and they roll around in it its kinda funny. cute and adorable ,
birds love unconditional. so treasure every minute with them...
